We have owned Akitas since 1995, and have been breeding since
2000. We are actively involved in showing in the
conformation ring.
Our puppies are raised in our home, and live with me, my daughter and 9
year old granddaughter, our other dogs, and are exposed to our friends
and extended family. They are raised with a tremendous amount of love and
caring. We firmly believe that this enhances the wonderful temperaments we
have produced in all our litters to date. We are very selective of our stud
dogs, since health and temperament are so important to us.
This selectivity also extends to our puppy buyers. We are very careful about
our placements, and are always available for questions and advice. We
keep in touch with our puppies' new families, and encourage feedback from
them.
I have been a member of the Public Education Committee of the Akita Club of
America, and strongly believe that it is our job as breeders to educate - our
puppy buyers, our prospective puppy buyers, and the public in general. Akitas
are NOT the breed for everyone, and, as such, potential owners need to know
as much about the breed as possible - the good, and the bad. We, as breeders,
need to know as much as possible about our prospective buyers, too, so that
we can place the right puppy with the right family. We will accept (and have
taken back) any of our puppies for any reason, so we want to be as sure
as we can that the placements we make will hold.
